FBAA Agents returned to New Zealand for the first time since 2020, due to the covid restrictions, and were once again active, purchasing on behalf of their clients. The 3 days of selling in Book 1 netted just over $70m with a clearance rate of 79%. The sale medium rose from $100,000 in 2022 to $130,000 in this year’s edition while the average increased marginally from $146,808 in 2022 to $151,980 this year.
There were 13 accredited FBAA agents that purchased in Book 1 for total spend of $11.3m on 59 yearlings purchased. Andrew Williams led the charge involved with 10 purchases for $2,775,000.
The focus now shifts to Sydney for the Inglis Classic Yearling Sale which takes place from 12-14th February.
