How to become a Bloodstock Agent

Are you interest in a career as a bloodstock agent?

The path to becoming a bloodstock agent is not necessarily a fixed one with specific qualifications.  However, general business skills, knowledge of equine science and hands on experience working on thoroughbred breeding farms and in racing stables is extremely beneficial.

Some major bloodstock auction houses may offer cadet roles to train people in bloodstock fundamentals.  Each State’s racing authority may also provide training opportunities, mostly via TAFE equine and agriculture related courses.

There are other programs that provide solid career pathways to becoming a bloodstock agent, such as Godolphin Flying Start, Marcus Oldham College Thoroughbred Scholarship and the Irish National Stud Scholarship.
